Prayer Intentions for the Week

During the week I read in Pray as you Go the following words which have kept coming back to me. They are the words of Simeon used in a meditation from Luke 2:28.

I have enough

I have taken the Saviour

The hope of the Gentiles

Into my arms.

We were invited to respond

I have you Lord

I have enough

Please God this can be a fervent response from each of us.

COME HOLY SPIRIT FILL THE HEARTS OF THE FAITHFUL

ENKINDLE WITHIN US THE FIRE OF YOUR LOVE

SEND FORTH YOUR SPIRIT THAT WE MAY BE RECREATED

THEN YOU WILL RENEW THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

We remember in our prayers all who have lost their life to the corona virus and the bereaved relatives as they grieve for their loved ones.

Betty Thomas and Kathleen Parker , please support their families in your prayers. Also please pray for Mary Knapper of West Riding Care Home who has died.  RIP

Can we remember in our prayers all in Fieldhead and all the staff who care for them, we pray for an increase in hope and peace.

Those of all ages in our prisons who are finding isolation very difficult

Continuing prayer please for Jim who is very ill and Janet his wife as she supports him through his illness

Prayers please for Roger who has been ill for a couple years and his wife who supports him

A thanksgiving for Mena, we have been praying for her since the 1st week of our prayer support and after a scan it was revealed she is cancer-free and is now in remission, praise God.

Father Gregory Knowles with suspected covid19 (will update as soon as I have any more news)

Katrina,  a young mum asked for prayers for her health, she has just sent me her appointment date which is  29thMay at Dewsbury General Hospital. Katrina has struggled with poor health for a few years and understandably she is quite scared, she has 3 young daughters who are also very upset for their mum.

A special intention please for someone waiting for results of tests with operation to follow

A request from Katrine from Brighouse, her brother-in-law Bernard had a heart attack, latest update, he is stable but still in need of prayer

Special intention please from Father Frank Smith

An update  on Mandy. Operation went as expected,  Mandy is now home but still needs lots of prayer support as she begins the long road to recovery, she expects to hear her results next week and then hear what the way forward is for her.

We continue to pray for the NHS and all key workers

Our thoughts and prayers please for the way forward for all our schools as they slowly emerge from the lockdown.

For students submitting their dissertations, that they receive a favourable result from all their hard work during this difficult time.

BREATHE ON ME BREATH OF GOD, FILL ME WITH LIFE ANEW

THAT I MAY LOVE WHAT THOU DOST LOVE AND DO WHAT THOU WOULDST DO

BREATHE ON ME BREATH OF GOD, UNTIL MY HEART IS PURE

UNTIL WITH THEE I HAVE ONE WILL, TO DO AND TO ENDURE

BREATHE ON ME BREATH OF GOD  TILL I AM WHOLLY THINE

UNTIL THIS EARTHLY PART OF ME GLOWS WITH THY FIRE DIVINE

BREATHE ON ME BREATH OF GOD,  SO SHALL I NEVER DIE

BUT LIVE WITH THEE  THE PERFECT LIFE OF THINE ETERNITY
