The choir provides the music liturgy for the 11:00am Mass on Sunday mornings. Also available to sing at weddings and funerals on request. Singing a wide range of musical styles and the choir’s repertoire covers music from the last thousand years. The liturgical music includes plainchant Masses, polyphonic Masses and modern English settings.

Along with the liturgical music the choir performs recitals, undertakes tours and occasionally sing at St Anne’s Cathedral in Leeds. In recent years the choir has sung the Vigil Mass at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome and performed a recital at Notre Dame in Paris. In 2019 the choir toured Austria -singing in Salzburg and Innsbruck. Recently the choir undertook a tour in Spain taking in Segovia, Madrid and Avila.

The choir provides the perfect complement for a wedding and the music can be provided before and during the service. Organists, soloists and instrumentalists can also be provided (fees do apply). Please do contact the choir if you wish to discuss your ceremony. We can assist in planning the musical side of your ceremony.

Thinking of joining?

We are always looking for new members in all sections. The ability to read music is not a requirement -just the ability to sing in tune and a willingness to learn! No formal auditions though we would ask you to attend a couple of rehearsals to find out more about you and your ability as well as for you to find out more about us. Rehearsals are on Sunday from 7.45p.m until 9.30p.m. Choral scholarships may be available for students aged 16-21
